Map: Queensland Flood Extent, Extremes

Peaks at the first flood-affected towns in Queensland and north New South Wales have been reached, yet floodwaters continue downstream, threatening other towns.

Reports of the temporary shutdown of four Whitehaven coal mines at the end of  last week due to heavy rain remain the only news of adverse impacts on energy production facilities.

While the ASX opens in 15 minutes, it is unlikely that there will be a deluge of statements related to adverse impacts by coal and gas companies.

Insurance companies are likely to take some time to make any detailed annoucements.
